The museum is very good with Brazilian jerseys from all eras and tributes to historic Brazilian idols. We also visited the visitors' locker room, very nice. You can also visit one of the stands and enjoy the view. It would have been nice to have a minimum tour of the playing field, the substitutes' benches or the broadcasting booths. The tour is free with all the time at your disposal, without guides or groups.

I liked being able to go down to the field and see the players' benches up close. Also to see some boots and balls from mythical matches of long ago.

The stadium is great, maybe because of the date and the events you can not appreciate well as shown in the Maracana tour, as we could not enter the field, in my opinion is good tour but lacked that detail of information before buying the ticket, we could only be in the stands.

Excellent experience visiting Christ the Redeemer and the Rio Aquarium. Both places are not to be missed, well organized and very enriching for our group. As a point to consider, the tickets do not include transportation, so it is important to coordinate it in advance. Overall, a very positive experience and totally recommendable.

Booked this for my girlfriend’s birthday. Both places were good, but AquaRio was the winner. Loved the big tanks, but museum felt a bit too modern for us. Olympic Boulevard murals = super IG-worthy. Staff was friendly but lines took longer than expected at museum entry. Worth it for a chill half-day.

Tips from a local

  • The main aquarium tunnel gets crowded around midday. Arrive right at opening (9-10am) to enjoy it almost to yourself and get those perfect photos.
  • Start with smaller exhibits like the Coral Reef and Baby Sharks areas, then save the Oceanic Tank for later when crowds thin out.
  • Keep an eye on scheduled feedings and presentations; they’re short windows of time but give you a great close-up view of the marine life in action.
  • Bring a camera, not just a phone. Many spots, especially the Oceanic Tunnel, are incredibly photogenic.
  • Pair your visit with the Museum of Tomorrow, or Praça Mauá. Everything is within a 10–15 minute walk, saving transport time.
  • Traffic in Rio can be unpredictable. Locals recommend taking the Metro to Cinelândia or Carioca and then the VLT to AquaRio for a stress-free arrival.
